Artist Statement
The combination of industrial and organic materials and the creation of alternative
cloth is what fuels my artwork. I am intrigued by the visual outcomes that occur
through the integration of the smooth shiny surfaces of industrial materials with the
uneven matte surfaces of organic materials. The combination of the industrial and
the organic also emerges in my artistic practice through imbuing industrial
mediums with organic form. I feel that it is important in our current position to
provide visual outcomes that show a successful meshing of the industrial and the
organic. Often these two realms of life are seen in competition, where in reality they
need to function together to ensure the stability of our surrounding environments.
