Artist Statement

Using reclaimed materials – predominantly metal and wood – my goal is to integrate form, color, texture, and substance. Each salvaged component carries its own unique history. Some remain mysterious, while others offer familiar social or cultural references. Combined with one another, the respective parts interact and are revitalized into fresh new entities. My joining methods vary according to the materials, and become part of the creative challenge and aesthetic. The process is playful. The style is loosely figurative. The results, I hope, engage the imagination and enrich our collective visual experience.
