Artist Statement

Painting for Browning is a "demanding obsession that removes you from the world and takes you deeper into yourself". There is a personal chaotic energy in her work. Her process involves the interplay of layering diluted washes of color with ink and oil bar connecting line, organic and geometric shapes. As the work progresses the paint becomes thicker and the marks more expressive. Each piece is a tool for learning with pertinent layers of activity and contemplation. She describes it as a personal wrestling match but the result is an honest connectedness. Browning earned her BFA from the University of Colorado Denver.

 

Browning has exhibited in local galleries and her work is collected nationwide. Her paintings are available through Ice Cube Gallery in Denver and she is represented by Denver Art Company.
